Finland, Finland, Finland!
Ahem, anyway, that’s just a by-product of having seen Monty Python’s SPAMALOT last night! What a fantastic show. Written by Eric Idle and his song co-writer since The Life of Brian, John Du Prez, it’s a lovingly ripped off re-telling of The Holy Grail with none other than Matthew Kelly as King Arthur. And who would have thought he could actually do Graham Chapman justice on stage? Not I, that’s for truth!
Idle also makes a brief appearance too, as God (geddit?!) and, well, I’d try to describe the experience but… it’s Python!
A brilliant ad-lipped song about Birmingham was probably the highlight… with ‘appearances’ from Ozzy Osbourne and Susan Boyle. The latter suffering a BOOM headshot on stage…
But enough of that. Just go see it! And look at all the women dressed up for the theatre to go and see Monty Python. I can only imagine the conversation that lead to that.
Boyfriend: Dear, get dolled up, because we’re going to the theatre, baby!
Girlfriend: OMG OMG OMG REALLY? I love you sooooo much! I’m going to put my best dress on!
Oh, it’s a comedy musical based on Monty Python.
Boyfriend: I may be going home alone, but it was worth it!
Also, this posts means I have to add a new category to the “nerd rage” umbrella for I have no “theatrical nerd rage” option… life is hard, friends, life is hard.
