-About -

Hello friends. My name is Richard.

This is my blog. And here are some interesting facts about myself for you.
- I was born in 1987, the second of three children – an older brother and a younger sister – in the not so picturesque town (now city) of Wolverhampton the in the West Midlands of jolly old England.
- I turned purple within minutes of living, thanks to my umbilical cord.
- I left school with some decent GCSEs and A-Levels, went to the University of Bangor (the Welsh one!) and graduated with a 2:2 in Journalism & Media Studies.
- I am a massive film nerd. Chances are I could tell you some useless trivia about your favourite movie(s).
- I spend far too much time on my Xbox 360, distracting myself from possibly more important matters.
- Apart from gaming and films, I also enjoy reading and trying my own hand at writing.
- My favourite genre over any of these is sci-fi. Probably because it’s about as far away from reality as you can get.
- I am left-handed. The only other lefties I know are my mother and my dear friend Sinead. Together we plot to ‘left’ all the wrongs and acquire world domination.
- I have an odd memory. I can remember the most obscure and quirky things most people would forget.
- Somewhere along the line I became a miserable, misanthropic git. Yet I like to maintain some [often misplaced] faith in the Human race.
- Depression has been a part of my life since late 2008. This blog won’t be pretty, at times, although hope and positivity will shine through on the odd occasion.
- I like getting comments on my posts. What?

This blog won’t always be about depression and dooom’n'gloom. I also like to spread my wonder at the advances in science and technology, as well as [re]posting anything that tickles my geek/nerd tendencies.
Either way, it should be enjoyable.

Here’s to the journey!

Oh, and if anything on this blog offends you, may I direct you here to contact me directly.

- Richard.
